EL ARTE MVSICO is a variable ensemble specialised
in the historical performance of a repertoire of pieces from the 17th
and 18th
centuries.
Founded in 2003 by violinists Ángel Sampedro and
Teresa Casanova, cellist Isabel Gómez-Serranillos and harpsichordist Diego Fernández join them to form the core of
the ensemble. They gather specialised performers for each of
their programmes.
The
ensemble has gained notoriety for their high quality programmes,
which include music that is relevant for its musicological and
aesthetic value. They have a keen interest in the recovery of Spanish
and European musical heritage, devoting much of their time to
research projects. EL ARTE MVSICO, aware of the importance of
bringing Baroque music closer to the public, engages in a dual task,
both artistic and educational, by organising concerts, giving
lectures, teaching specialised courses in historical performance and
taking part in learning-related projects.
